Controlling Skin Aging And Skin Greasiness

April 16th, 2009 | Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

Many of us women know that as we get older, we have to work harder to fight back the signs of aging and skin greasiness.

We have all been guilty of falling for the latest miracle skin cream, the cream that sorts out all our skin care issues. We have tried many concoctions promising many wonderful results. Unfortunately the only thing these wonder products had in common was their failure to work and the mess it left our skin in.

The belief is out there that all we have to do is slap some cream or lotion on and all will be well. This is simply not the case. When wrinkles start to appear and the skin loses it’s tone there is one issue directly responsible, our bodies failing ability to produce elastin and collagen.Collagen and elastin are the main reasons our skin retains it’s firmness or tone.Naturally when our body reduces the production of these proteins the results are clearly visible in our skin.

Most of the creams and lotions on the market actually do more harm than good when working toward helping our skin to maintain it’s youthful and smooth appearance. The alcohols in most brand name products actually dry our skin out even more and ruin pores in our skin. This causes our skin to lose it’s ability to stay moist and causes our skin to dry up and crack.

Many of these products actually end up clogging our pores and reducing the body’s ability to release toxins through the skin.By blocking up the skins ability to breathe we were in fact causing further damage. It was not only cheaper skin creams that caused this, many well known brand names were also guilty.

These creams are packed with substances that give a temporary plumpness and firmness to the skin.In truth all they are doing is blocking our pores and restricting the bodys ability to breathe through the skin.Never a good idea, let alone be of any help with skin aging and greasiness.Once again it was all an illusion.

So what is the solution? The solution is to find a product that works to replenish the skins natural levels of collagen and elastin as well as hyaluronic acid. A good product will also work toward fighting oxidization due to free radicals, and not with the help of ingredients that actually increase aging and skin greasiness.

We need to stay away from hype and look for genuine ,quality products that actually do as they say they do, and not at a ridiculous price either.

Defy Aging

March 1st, 2009 | Uncategorized | Comments Off

Americans spend billions of dollars each year on skin care products that promise to erase wrinkles, lighten age spots, and eliminate itching, flaking, or redness. But the simplest and cheapest way to keep your skin healthy and young looking is to stay out of the sun.

Sunlight is a major cause of the skin changes we think of as aging β€” changes such as wrinkles, dryness, and age spots. Your skin does change with age. For example, you sweat less, leading to increased dryness. As your skin ages, it becomes thinner and loses fat, so it looks less plump and smooth. Underlying structures β€” veins and bones in particular β€” become more prominent. Your skin can take longer to heal when injured.

You can delay these changes by staying out of the sun. Although nothing can completely undo sun damage, the skin sometimes can repair itself. So, it’s never too late to protect yourself from the harmful effects of the sun.

Dealing With Under Eye Circles

Under eye circles often plague us along with under eye wrinkles.  Dark under eye circles are a result of tiny little capillaries and blood vessels for showing through the extraordinary thin and delicate skin under the eyes.  Blood deposits turn deep purple and you end up looking like you just went 12 hard rounds in a boxing ring.  A poor diet, weight loss, smoking, medications that dilate blood vessels, and age are all factors that contribute to those dreaded dark circles that bestow an old, tired and haggard appearance.

Specifically treating the eye area with natural ingredients will soften the fine lines and diminish dark under eye circles. You can also use topical products that contain a plumping agent or alpha hydroxy acids, which can thicken the skin, or vitamins C and K, which can inflame skin and add volume.

Understanding The Skin

Our skin is the largest organ in the body.  It regulates body temperature, protects us from dehydration and injury, and can have many sensations, including pain, heat and cold.  Its flawless, radiant appearance can make the difference between a good day and a fantastic day.

The condition of the skin is a national obsession.  Aiming for beautiful skin is a worthy goal.  But, just like any other organ of the body, the skin needs to be protected and cared for.  When you tend to your skin – by shielding it from the sun’s damaging rays, eating nutrient-rich foods, sleeping adequately, using superior skin care products and entrusting its care to a dermatologist – it will reward you with an enviously healthy appearance, without those pesky fine lines under the eyes.

Reduce Tension to Reduce Eye Wrinkles

December 9th, 2007 | Uncategorized | Comments Off

People hold tension in different parts of their face, particularly the eyes. A typical example is squinting or half-closed eyes. When this tension is repeatedly locked in the same place for years, it etches into the skin the lines that reflect our attitudes, our history and our age. Small surprise that one of the most common complaints in later years are crow’s feet.

The earlier we become aware of where we bury our anxieties, the easier it will be to minimize the effects on our skin. By becoming aware of what our face is doing, we can reduce the time these muscles are tensed and limit the damage to the skin.

How to Get Rid of Eye Wrinkles Naturally

Eye Wrinkles. Many of us dread the arrival of those lines, crinkles, and creases that will eventually etch their way into our faces sooner or later. Although you cannot avoid aging, you don’t have to end up with a prune like complexion. You can achieve wrinkle free skin naturally.

But first, it is important to understand the factors that contribute to the development of wrinkles. As we age, the cells in our outermost layer of skin, the epidermis, become increasingly thin and decreasingly sticky. As a result, our aging skin becomes thinner and drier; cells divide more slowly, meaning that the natural repairing mechanisms in the skin work less quickly.

Changes also occur in the second layer of skin, the dermis, where the connective tissue is formed. The connective tissue controls the strength and elasticity of the skin. As our skin ages, the dermis becomes thinner. Collagen and elastin fibers, which connect and support the skin, decline, leading to decreased elasticity in the skin.

By following unique facial exercises, you can strengthen the connective tissues in your skin and diminish the signs of eye wrinkles. These are natural techniques, that are free of chemicals and can be performed in the comfort of your home with results in a short period of time. Facial exercises will rejuvenate your skin, preventing eye wrinkles and allowing you to put your best face forward.
